Genesis of BioHealth Journal
Journal Biomedical and Environmental Health Technology (BIOHEALTH) was established in 2023 as an initiative of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) at Institut Kesehatan dan Teknologi Al Insyirah (IKTA) Pekanbaru. The journal emerged from the growing need to provide a dedicated platform for disseminating research in the rapidly evolving fields of biomedical engineering, medical informatics, and environmental health technology.
Vision and Mission Foundation
The founding vision was to create a multidisciplinary journal that bridges the gap between theoretical research and practical applications in healthcare technology. The journal was conceived to serve the Indonesian academic community while maintaining international standards and accessibility through open access publishing.
Initial Editorial Structure
The inaugural editorial board was formed with experts from three core domains:
- Biomedical Engineering: Faculty from engineering and medical technology programs
- Medical Informatics: Specialists in health information systems and digital health
- Environmental Health Engineering: Researchers in environmental health and sustainability
