HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP PERINEAL HYGINE DALAM PENCEGAHAN KEPUTIHAN REMAJA DI PONDOK PESANTREN MODERN DINIYAH PUTERI PEKANBARU

Women's reproductive health has become a health problem that must be considered, especially in adolescence. Perineal hygiene is an action to maintain cleanliness and maintain the health of a person's reproductive organs. Perineal hygiene behavior is important for adolescent girls in the early teenage stage because early adolescence is the initial stage of a person's reproductive development. The aim of this research is to see the relationship between knowledge and attitudes about perineal hygiene towards preventing vaginal discharge in adolescents. This research uses a quantitative type of research with a cross-sectional correlation approach design. The population in this study was 88 people. The sample in this study was taken using a total sampling technique of 88 respondents. This research was carried out at the Pekanbaru Islamic boarding school. This research used univariate and bivariate analysis with the chi square test. In the results of this research, the majority of respondents were 13 years old, 36 people (40.9%), teenagers had their first menstruation at the age of 11 years (47%) and 12 years (26%). There were 79 students (89.8%) who had poor knowledge about perineal hygiene and the number of teenagers who had a bad attitude towards perineal hygiene was 80 teenagers (90.9%). This research found that there was a relationship between knowledge and the prevention of vaginal discharge in adolescents at the modern Islamic boarding school, Diniyah Putri, with a value of p=.006 (<0.05) and there was a relationship between attitudes and the prevention of vaginal discharge among adolescents at the modern Islamic boarding school, Diniyah Putri, with a value of p=. 011 (<0.05). This researcher recommends that Islamic boarding schools provide health promotion regarding perineal hygiene.
