GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN REMAJA TENTANG TINGKAT PERILAKU SEKSUAL

Abstract

Sexual behavior is a natural part of adolescent development, but without adequate knowledge, it carries the risk of premarital pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and psychological distress. The lack of openness in sex education in schools and families exacerbates these risks. This study aims to determine the level of adolescent knowledge regarding sexual behavior at SMA Negeri 9 Pekanbaru City. The method used was descriptive quantitative with a non-probability sampling technique on 152 respondents. Data were collected through a valid and reliable questionnaire, then analyzed univariately. The results showed that the majority of respondents were 16 years old with a nearly balanced gender composition (50.7% male and 49.3% female). Although 110 respondents (72.4%) had a good level of general knowledge, there were still misunderstandings in specific aspects, such as fantasizing about partners (58.6%), holding hands (42.8%), and kissing on the forehead (34.2%). The researchers concluded that although general knowledge was relatively high, there were still misconceptions regarding the boundaries of certain sexual behaviors. Based on this, it is recommended that more comprehensive reproductive health education be improved through collaboration between schools, health workers, and parents to prevent risky sexual behavior among adolescents.
