Interprofessional Collaboration (IPC) is a collaborative relationship among healthcare professionals from different educational and professional backgrounds who share a common goal of solving patient problems together. This study aimed to determine the association between IPC and the quality of patient care planning at a type-C hospital in Tangerang. This study used a quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 211 healthcare workers, and the sample comprised 136 respondents selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. The independent variable was IPC, measured using the Assessment of Interprofessional Team Collaboration Scale II (AITCS-II), while the dependent variable was the quality of patient care planning, measured using a researcher-developed questionnaire based on the Information-Analysis-Plan (IAR) method. Data were analyzed bivariately using the chi-square test and multivariately using binary logistic regression. The bivariate analysis showed a significant association between IPC and the quality of patient care planning (p=0.000; OR=69.000; 95% CI: 22.188–214.575). Binary logistic regression showed that IPC was significantly associated with the quality of patient care planning (p=0.000) after adjusting for age, sex, education level, and length of work, with an Odds Ratio of 118.308 (95% CI: 27.896–501.458). The logistic regression model explained 70.1% of the variation in patient care planning quality (Nagelkerke R Square=0.701). In conclusion, there is a strong association between IPC and the quality of patient care planning. Given the cross-sectional design, this association should be interpreted as correlational rather than causal. Strengthening interprofessional collaboration is recommended as one strategy to improve the quality of patient care planning in hospitals.
