Abstract

Nurse performance appraisal is an essential aspect for enhancing the quality of nursing services in hospitals. In addition, it is a reference tool used by nursing managers to effectively monitor human resources and productivity. Several reports have shown that failure to prioritize performance appraisal can lead to a scenario where nurses work below the standard competence levels. This study was carried out using a quantitative analysis design, and statistical questionnaire validity and reliability tests were conducted. In addition, data collection was carried out in December 2023 prospectively on 46 nurses. Validity test results of nurse performance appraisal questionnaire showed that the questions were valid and could be used in conducting investigations with a correlation value of 0.05. Based on the findings, all 35 questions showed an r-count value of > 0.290 and Cronbach's alpha value of 0.731 with a significant level of 5%, indicating their reliability. Questionnaire evaluating the performance of implementing nurses in hospitals adopted from Berkow et al. was declared valid and reliable.
