Abstract

Environmental cleanliness and personal hygiene are very important in maintaining public health, especially in the context of food and beverage sales. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between environmental sanitation and personal hygiene of traders with the presence of Coliform bacteria in orange iced drinks at the Welcome to Batam tourist park in 2023. This research methodology uses quantitative research with a cross-sectional research design. The population in this study was the entire sample, namely 28 traders who sold orange ice snacks at the Welcome to Batam tourist park. The data analysis technique uses the Fisher Exact test using a confidence level of 95% with a p-value ≤ 0.05. The results of this research showed that there was a p-value of 0.001, there was a relationship between environmental sanitation and personal hygiene of traders and the presence of Coliform bacteria in orange iced drinks at the Welcome to Batam tourist park. The conclusion of this research is that there is a relationship between environmental sanitation and personal hygiene of traders and the presence of Coliform bacteria in orange iced drinks at the Welcome to Batam tourist park in 2023. Suggestions for the management of the Welcome to Batam tourist park should pay more attention to environmental sanitation in the area, requiring traders to take food and drink hygiene and sanitation courses and require traders to undergo health checks at least once a year.
