Optimal breast milk production for infants must meet expectations. One of the success factors in breastfeeding is early breast care, during pregnancy and after birth. The purpose of breast care is to improve blood circulation and prevent blockage of the milk ducts, so that milk production is smooth. The objective of this study was to ascertain the correlation between the knowledge, education, and age of postpartum regarding breast care and the ease with which infants are able to consume breast milk in the Postpartum Room of dr. Murjani Sampit Hospital. This type of research is analytic with cross sectional design. The study was conducted in the Postpartum Room of dr. Murjani Sampit Hospital, the population was postpartum. The sampling technique used was random sampling with as many as 32 respondents using the fisher exact test analysis. The results of the study from 32 respondents where with good knowledge and experienced smooth breast milk production as much as (53.1%), high school education and experienced smooth breast milk production as much as (37.5%) and age 20-35 years and experienced smooth breast milk production as much as (43.75%). Fisher exact test analysis the ρ value of knowledge (0.002), education (0.004) and age (0.000) < α (α = 0.05) so it is concluded that there is a significant corelation between knowledge, education and age of postpartum about breast care with the smooth release of exclusive breast milk in the postpartum room of dr. Murjani Sampit Hospital. Breast care in postpartum can help smooth the production of breast milk, so it is important for a healthcare provider to counsel, inform, and educate postpartum about the importance of breast care as early as possible.
