Abstract

The high incidence of Tuberculosis (TB) in Indonesia makes vaccination a vital preventive strategy. However, resistance to TB vaccination remains substantial, driven by limited public knowledge and the spread of negative sentiments on social media. This study explore the relationship between individual knowledge and digital sentiment in influencing TB vaccination decisions. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining sentiment analysis of 26 social media posts using the Naive Bayes and an online survey of 100 respondents who actively engaged with these posts. Logistic regression revealed that higher TB knowledge (OR = 4.16; CI: 1.38–12.53) and positive vaccine perceptions (OR = 0.48; CI: 0.31–0.76) significantly increased the likelihood of vaccine acceptance. Conversely, higher education levels were associated with lower willingness to vaccinate (OR = 0.16; CI: 0.06–0.45). Sentiment analysis showed that 53.8% of posts carried positive tones, primarily educational content shared by healthcare professionals. The study concludes that integrating individual knowledge with digital sentiment analysis offers a promising approach to understanding and enhancing vaccine acceptance. It is recommended that public health communication strategies focus on evidence-based education via trusted digital channels and include vaccine literacy training for healthcare professionals and digital influencers to combat misinformation Public
