Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia is still relatively high at 48.9%. Anemia itself can be prevented by consuming nutritious food, one of which is dragon fruit and tomatoes. Red dragon fruit contains high potassium and flavonoids so it can lower blood pressure. Dragon fruit and tomatoes are one of the food ingredients that contain substances needed for the formation of blood cells so that they can overcome the effect of decreasing Hb. This study aims to determine the effect of giving tomato juice and dragon fruit juice on hemoglobin levels in third trimester pregnant women at Tambusai Batang Dui Village, Bathin Solapan District, Bengkalis Regency. This research was conducted in July 2021. The design of this study was a quasi-experimental method. Samples were taken using accidental sampling The number of samples is 30 people. Measurement of Hemoglobin Levels using Easy touch. Tomato juice was given for 5  days to 15 respondents and dragon fruit juice was given for 10 days to 15 respondents. The results of statistical tests obtained p value = 0.042 (p < 0.05), it can be concluded that there is a difference in the increase in Hb levels of pregnant women TM II given dragon fruit juice and tomato juice with a difference of 0.5% increase in Batang Dui Village, Bathin Solapan District. Bengkalis Regency.
