Abstract

Anxiety disorders affect approximately 10% of pregnant women worldwide, while the prevalence in Indonesia reaches 12.4%. Preliminary data obtained from Payung Sekaki Community Health Center indicated that four out of six pregnant women reported experiencing anxiety prior to childbirth. A mother's psychological readiness to face labor is influenced by various factors, including support from her husband. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between husband support and the psychological readiness of pregnant women in facing childbirth at Payung Sekaki Community Health Center. This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 108 pregnant women in the first, second, and third trimesters, selected through purposive sampling from a population of 148 respondents. Data were collected using a husband support questionnaire and the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) to assess psychological readiness. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents received good husband support (69.4%) and were categorized as having mild anxiety (66.7%). Statistical analysis revealed a significant relationship between husband support and the psychological readiness of pregnant women (p = 0.000). Pregnant women who received optimal support from their husbands tended to have better psychological readiness in facing childbirth. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that increased husband support contributes to better psychological readiness among pregnant women prior to childbirth.
