Abstract

Preschool children are children aged 3-6 years where this age is a golden age that must be stimulated, one of which is motor development. WHO data in 2009 said that 5-25% of preschool children in the world have fine motor disorders. UNICEF data in 2011 also said that 27.5% or 3 million children in the world experienced fine motor delays. Motor skills can be developed by playing related to physical skills that also involve small muscles and eye and hand coordination, one of which is playing puzzles. This study aims to determine the effect of puzzle play therapy on fine motor development in preschool children. This study uses a literature study by analyzing the search results of journals (e-journals) and articles with reviews of existing theories (e-books), journals that have been reviewed by 9 national journals. The literature review shows the similarity of the results from 9 reviewed journals, that playing puzzles can have an influence on fine motor development in preschool children. Providing stimulation such as playing puzzles to children can improve fine motor skills in children so that it can reduce the incidence of children with delayed fine motor development.
