Abstract

Performance is the actual result of a nurse's work which is carried out in accordance with his/her responsibilities. Factors related to nurse performance are workload, work stress and competence. Workload is a collection of activities that must be completed by nurses in the room. Excessive workload on nurses will affect the quality of the nurse's work, which can cause the nurse to become stressed easily. In addition to workload and work stress, nurse competence is a factor that influences nurse performance. Competence is the ability or expertise of a nurse in carrying out their duties and responsibilities as a professional nurse in the work environment. This study aims to determine the relationship between workload, work stress and competence with nurse performance in documenting nursing care at Indrasari Regional Hospital. The type of research used is quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples in this study was 79 people. The sampling method used was Probability Sampling with Proportionate Stratified random sampling. Data were processed and analyzed univariately and bivariately with a computerized system, using the Pearson chi-square test. The results of the study showed that the majority of nurses' workload was in the moderate category, namely 64.6%, the majority of nurses' work stress was in the moderate category, namely 62%, the majority of nurses' competence was in the moderate category, namely 57%, and the majority of nurses' performance was in the moderate category, namely 67.1%. The results of statistical tests show that there is a significant relationship between workload (0.001), work stress (0.00), competence (0.002) and nurse performance in documenting nursing care. Recommendations to hospital management to prioritize the needs of nurses in improving competence and improving facilities in order to improve the quality of health services to patients.
